Welcome to LEEP Fitness, Berkeley’s best in-home personal training.
I created LEEP Fitness because I wanted to give people in the Berkeley and East Bay area a vehicle for getting healthy and fit outside of the traditional gym or fitness facility setting. For many of us, in-home training is an ideal situation. Having a personal trainer come directly to you is more convenient, requires little equipment, and most importantly saves you time. It also means that you don’t have to step foot inside a crowded gym wondering how to use equipment or what you should be doing with your time.
I was never “fit” until I started working out in college. At this point I was skinny, weak, had little experience working out and even less confidence in my abilities. Because of these things, I have experienced the workout anxiety or “gymtimidation” that many others experience when they walk into a gym.
While working towards my Master’s degree, I wrote my thesis on insecurities that people feel about being physically active, and learned that these insecurities can be a legitimate barrier to being active and healthy. One of my goals with LEEP Fitness is to eliminate these barriers in order to help you achieve your fitness goals. In-home personal training is the perfect way to accomplish this. During my studies I also spent much time learning about the countless physical, mental, emotional, and social benefits of exercise, which I now apply to my programming methods.
While I have overcome my initial feelings of apprehension, they have also helped me recognize that in the fitness world, one size does not fit all. I believe in earning your results. Achieving your fitness goals is not easy and I don’t pretend to make it that way. There are no quick fixes and no gimmicks that lead to sustained results. However, with the proper programming and motivation on my part and the right amount of dedication and consistency on yours, your goals are not only within reach, they are fully attainable.
